Chinese people gains access to bitcoin as Huawei mobile phone users will be able to download bitcoin wallet.
Huawei is including BTC.com’s bitcoin wallet in its app store. The vice president of business operations at BTC.com, Alejandro de la Torre, stated that it will be the first digital currency app offered on Huawei devices. He also said that the Appstore will be available in all new Huawei and Honor phones. it will be passed on to older devices later.
This is a great news for places like China, where the government blocks Android Google play store and some parts of Apple’s App store while the Chinese government shuts down cryptocurrency trading platforms, people can still own cryptocurrencies.
According to de la Torre:
“It’s a good opportunity to tap into the Chinese market. The use of cashless payments with apps is very big and the traditional banking is lacking, so there’s good use case for crypto payments to grow there.”
Huawei Technologies co., a Chinese multinational communications technology company, is the biggest mobile phone seller in the Chinese market.
Jaime Gonzalo, vice president of Huawei’s mobile services had this to say:
“From our leadership position in China, the tip of the spear of mobile payments, we expect to see massive growth in global cryptocurrency adoption habits in the near future.”
